How did the domain name ´thechristianlife.com´ get in the hands of a couple in their twenties, and what are they going to tell me? Why would I spend time on reading the content they put out? Allow us to share with you, a tiny bit of our story and what you can expect.

Both of us have been born and raised in church. However, in the last year or two, God has taken us on an amazing journey in our faith. Many things that we struggled with or were confused about have become clear. Not too long ago we thanked God for revealing so many different truths to us and we asked Him for a platform to share these discoveries with others. Like the parable of Jesus with the woman finding her silver coin (Luke 15:8-10), we are so excited about what we have found that we simply cannot be quiet about it. We immediately thought of a website/blog as a great tool to share our journey with the world and a thought of ´thechristianlife.com´ came to mind. We laughed a bit because we thought that would be too good to be true and that it would be taken already. When we found that it was available we contacted the owner of Epik -the company that owned the domain name- and we got this incredible domain name for free! What a blessing and start of this new undertaking!

Biblical calling

We strongly believe that the Bible is God’s word for us today and it guides the followers of Jesus in their lives. There are two Bible verses that are close to our hearts and have been a great inspiration to us to start this website.

Jesus here sends His followers on a mission, it’s even a command. It instructs the followers to not simply keep the amazing news to themselves, but share it with others. God wants all people to be saved and we have the privilege to be closely involved in this project. The command also instructs us to not leave it at only the good news, but to teach them the depth of the Christian life.

This verse is a great follow-up verse of the previous one. A wonderful combination of living in the spirit and in truth. One of the main motivations for us is that we have been in many churches and we have seen that often the truth is made irrelevant and the spirit is replaced with personal feelings. This is our effort to enable people to live the fullness of life and become the worshipers that the Father seeks. We will offer you food for wherever you are on your spiritual journey: milk for the ones new to faith and solid food for those more mature (1 Corinthians 3:2).  On this blog we will take up topics that we have come across on our journey. Some will be controversial, encouraging, uncomfortable, popular, confusing, challenging, and the list can go on.

The challenge to share

We live in a world where truth has become relative and everyone can have their own truth, even in the church truths are based on how we feel about them. A world where no one is to judge what is right and wrong, because ´who are you to do that? ´. A world where the motto ´do what you want´ is championed. This makes it a difficult time to present the truths of the Holy Writings. In the words of Ravi Zacharias: “How do you reach a generation that listens with its eyes and thinks with its feelings?”. We fitted that box perfectly, so we know there’s a layer of resistance. Unfortunately, discovering Gods truth is often not a too pleasant journey. Because more often than not, what you will find to be true stands opposite to today’s secular and even Christian culture and it -and this is the hardest one to deal with- it stands opposite to what we think we want! Our worldly environment teaches us to avoid, ignore or even criticize messages that go against what we want or make us feel a certain way. We know -as we have experienced it ourselves- that finding truth takes a lot and it will cost you. It can hurt along the way, it can make you feel alone, an outcast, it can even change the perspective of what you considered best moments in life. But what you will find.. wow.. that is so much better!

It is like finding gold, but way more precious than that. It´s finding freedom, life as it was designed to be! To break through this layer of resistance in us, we need prayer! The most important thing is that you do not simply accept or reject what we share. The most important thing is that you will turn to prayer and to the Word yourself, humble yourself before His throne and ask for wisdom in the matter. And when it comes down to it, act on the truth, no matter what the cost.

Countering attacks

We are fighting against spiritual powers (Ephesians 6:12). “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” 1 Peter 5:8 KJV. We are at war, and eternity is at stake. Not only for us, but also for your mom and dad, your friends, neighbors, the one behind the register at the supermarket. “for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. ” 2 Corinthians 11:14 KJV.  “For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.  But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.” Mark 13:22,23 KJV. The New Testament is full of warnings for deception, especially the closer we come to the end. We do not say this to arouse fear in His followers, but to stress the urgency of how important it is to study the Word ourselves and not simply tag along with worldly or church traditions and just go with whatever your pastor says. We should be aware of what is happening and study His Word carefully to stand firm in knowing what God’s truth really is.

We love all people and want all people to be saved. Because we love you, we want share with you the treasures that God has revealed to us. Our prayer is that the messages we share with you, will set you free, and will be a blessing to you and those around you.
